EcoSmart was the driving force behind SunMine, a one MegaWatt PhotoVoltaic plant on a reclaimed industrial site in Kimberley, BC.
After six years studies and pre-development activities, the PV plant was installed by Conergy, using Conergy PV modules, ABB- Power-One distributed inverters and DEGER dual axis-tracker.
Now completed, SunMine is the first large-scale ground-mounted, grid connected PV plant in Western Canada.
The plant is built on a former industrial site owned by Teck, a large mining company and is owned and operated by the City of Kimberley, the community adjacent to the site.
